Here’s What is Happening with Social Action in January at Rodeph Sholom

Let your friends know, so they can become involved too…

IN DECEMBER:

– Bring in a gently used winter coat for Operation Hope
– Are you a senior who wants to learn computer basics from our Talmud Torah 8th graders on Sunday, February 2nd? Limited to 8 spaces. Contact Ellen Bedford at 203-374-7330.
– Bring in plastic bags for the food pantry at the United Congregational Church
– Bring in old eyeglasses and hearing aids for the Lions Club

ONGOING:

CT Food Bank Back Pack Program
First Wednesday of every month: January 2nd, 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. hleping to feed hungry kids in 18 area towns.
74 Linwood Avenue, Fairfield, CT 06824. From I-95 South: Exit 21 (Mill Plain Road). At end of exit ramp go left up to the Post Road. (You will pass the parking lot to the Fairfield Train Station) Turn right onto the Post Road. Turn right onto Pine Creek Road. You will see a gas station on the left, Harry’s Corner on one right corner and The Shack Restaurant on your right corner. One minute later, just after the railroad bridge, take a left onto Linwood Avenue. Warehouse is on the right, brick building. We meet upstairs.

Soup Kitchen at St. John’s Church
Park & Fairfield Avenues, Bridgeport, the 5th Tuesday of the month (if the month has 5 Tuesdays): December 31st, 12:00 noon-2:00 p.m.; January 29th, 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Still collecting clean, winter, women’s suits for Dress for Success and clean pants, sweaters, shirts for men at Home for the Brave (veterans). Hang them on the coat racks in the lounge.

Be a Part of the Newly Formed Shiva Mitzvah Corp
Offer to bring a pre-made basket of goodies to a Rodeph member sitting shiva.

Come to the Stitch ‘n Kvetch
to make a blanket for a baby in an ICU unit of an aera hospital through the group Brady’s Smile. No sewing needed, just making knots.
